Patterson Park Basketball Court Mural (Oct 2022)

In October 2022, I was contracted as a Mural Painter Contract Position by Project Backboard, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to renovate public basketball courts and install large-scale works of site-specific art to encourage multi-generational play, to assist in the completion and execution of the Patterson Park Basketball Courts.

The project was organized by Darryl France, a senior at the Park School of Baltimore, and was Designed by a local Baltimore artist Jordan Lawson, and installed by Project Backboard.

Through this experience, I was able to assist the Project Blackboard Mural Team in the intricacies of collaborative mural-making like surface preparation, priming, and grid method to translate designs from paper to a large surface. I was also responsible for set-up and clean-up for paint days of the public space as well as facilitated public interaction by fielding feedback or inquiries from passersby during the mural's creation.
