Zaynab was my first-ever friend! We have cried together, celebrated together, and grown together. My sister holds so much importance in my life- In every pivotal moment in my life, she was probably involved. I have so many beautiful memories with Zaynab from childhood to adulthood. We attended secondary school together and would always hitch a ride in the morning / walk from school because we spent our transportation fare. So much of who I am today is truly because I knew that no matter the circumstance, she would always be in my corner. 

Zaynab is a force! A protector! She and her husband are due to welcome their new child to this world soon so I really wanted this painting to be different- something a little more sentimental and sweet. I want to say to her- I am proud of you, I am proud of your journey, I am proud of the person you have become, and I am even more excited for this new episode of your life. 

I already envision safe delivery, for her child to enter this world healthy and happy. I hope every day she sees this painting, To Zaynab- as you embark on this beautiful and transformative journey, trust in yourself, embrace the joys and challenges, and know that you are loved and cared for deeply! Know that you are not alone in this journey, I know your love for your child will know no bounds.
